Experts debated the use of MRI in the diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the EAN 2021 virtual conference.

The case for using MRI was made by Professor Julian Grosskreutz of the University Medical Center in Schleswig-Holstein in Lübeck, Germany. “ALS is useful in the diagnosis of ALS, provided that we respect that ALS is a syndrome of heterogeneous distribution and progression,” said Prof. Grosskreutz.
