Takeaway
In people with low-grade brain tumors and refractory epilepsy, fast ripples (250–500 Hz) in intraoperative electrocorticography (ECoG) can be used to help guide resection in surgery.
Why this matters ?
High frequency oscillations (HFOs) in ECoG may help delineate epileptogenic tissue better than spikes in ECoG in patients with low-grade tumors who present with epileptic seizures.
