How best to identify individuals at high risk of Parkinson’s disease?

There is strong evidence of an association between Parkinson’s disease (PD) and not only well-known risk factors but also epilepsy and earlier menarche, and diabetes also has a genetic risk-dependent effect in PD, researchers from Queen Mary University, London, UK, have reported.

The group used the UK Biobank, an extensive set of health-related data, to systematically investigate associations between incident PD diagnosis and environmental risk factors and prodromal features.
